Beyonce talked to her baby while giving birth.

The 'Love on Top' superstar felt a ''strong connection'' to daughter Blue Ivy - her first child with husband Jay-Z - while she was pregnant and claims she communicated with her child as she went into labour in January 2012.

Speaking to the March issue of US Vogue magazine, she said: ''I felt like when I was having contractions, I envisioned my child pushing through a very heavy door. And I imagined this tiny infant doing all the work, so I couldn't think about my own pain. We were talking. I know it sounds crazy, but I felt a communication.

''I felt very maternal around eight months and I thought I couldn't become any more until I saw the baby, but it happened during my labour because I had a very strong connection with my child.''

The 31-year-old beauty - who wowed audiences with her Super Bowl half-time show last week - added she feels more feminine since having a child and is more in tune with her body.

She explained: ''After giving birth, I really understand the power of my body. I feel a lot more like a woman. More feminine, more sensual. And no shame.''
