Beyonce Knowles - Beyonce's birthday tribute to Gwyneth

Beyonce Knowles gave a special birthday shout out to Gwyneth Paltrow during a concert performance on Saturday (06.10.12).

The 31-year-old singer joined her husband Jay-Z on stage at his concert at Brooklyn's Barclays Center for a performance of 'Diva' and 'Crazy In Love' and couldn't resist paying tribute to her close friend Gwyneth, who turned 40 recently.

Beyonce told the crowd she had to wish happy birthday ''to a special friend of mine'' and added ''Gwyn, I love you''.

This came after Beyonce attended Gwyneth's third birthday bash on Friday (05.10.12).

The actress - who has already toasted the milestone at parties in Nice and London - was also joined by other famous friends including Steven Spielberg, Kate Capshaw, Jessica Seinfeld, Chelsea Handler, Kristen Wiig, Ethan Hawke, Jake Gyllenhaal, Christy Turlington and The Beastie Boys' Mike D.

The 'Iron Man' star's mother Blythe Danner and Coldplay star husband Chris Martin were also present for the birthday celebrations at Elio's Italian restaurant in New York.

For Beyonce's 31st birthday in September, Gwyneth sent her a heartfelt handwritten note from her and Chris, co-signed by their children Apple, eight and Moses, six.

She wrote: ''For dear sweet BB on the occasion of her 31st birthday... We love you so very much. Love Gwyneth, Chris, Apple, Moses (sic).''

Has The Real Reason Behind Why Beyoncé & Jay-Z Missed Kim And Kanye's Wedding Been Revealed? 4305191 News

Since Kim Kardashian and Kanye West tied the knot back in May, many people have speculated as to why the groom's good friend, and frequent collaborator, Jay-Z and his wife Beyoncé missed the ceremony, which took place in Florence, Italy.

In fact, it could be said that there has been more coverage on the music power couple's absence rather than the newlyweds, but new reports have recently surfaced that may finally reveal the truth behind Jay and Queen Bey skipping the wedding.

A source close to the high-profile couple told New York Post's Page Six that they chose to miss Kimye's nuptials because they thought it wasn't up to their standards.

The report states that they "shunned Kanye West and Kim Kardashian's wedding because it was too low-rent for the Jay Z/Beyoncé brand."

"They are guarding like hell their status," a source also told the newspaper. "Beyoncé wasn't going to allow a Kardashian to socially climb her. And Jay didn't want Kanye with Kim - he thinks it's bad for business. I think Jay lost a little respect for Kanye there."

Instead of travelling to Paris for some pre-wedding festivities, and then down to the Italian city for Kim and Kanye's big day, Mr and Mrs Carter enjoyed a break in the Hamptons with their daughter Blue-Ivy. But they did send their well wishes as the 'Halo' singer took to Instagram to congratulate the newlyweds.

However, in an interview with Australia's radio station KIIS 106.5 FM last month, the Kardashian matriarch, Kris Jenner, admitted that Jay and Bey's absence wasn't any big deal.

"There was so much commotion and excitement, I never really gave that a second thought," Jenner said. "If you had been there, you would have thought that was the last thing on anyone's mind." Adding, "I just assumed they were working."

Rumours that a seperation is imminent have plagued the music power couple for months, ever since that night at the Met Costume Gala when Beyonce's little sister Solange attacked her brother-in-law in a lift. Even as recently as today headlines globally suggest the pair are to split, yet Beyonce seemed to hit back at her critics without using her words; instead, she took to her Instagram account and simply shared a sweet photo of herself and beau Jay-Z taking a stroll with their adorable daughter Blue Ivy.

Beyonce and Jay-ZThe couple wowed the public back at the Met Gala, and it wasn't just because of their attire

Beyonce and Jay-Z have been together for twelve years and married for six, with Blue Ivy born in 2012. Together they are one of the most influential celebrity couples in the world, dominating the music scene and currently performing together on their global 'On The Run' tour. They hit headlines the other day when they treated their entire crew to a surprise rollerskating party at a rink Beyonce used to visit as a child. Their joint tour concludes in September in Paris, and will also be streamed live in a special broadcast on American network HBO.

Despite Being Re-Cast, Charlie Hunnam Is Still Rooting For "Fifty Shades Of Grey" 4295566 News

In case you’re not interested in Fifty Shades of Grey news, look away now. Actually, you may want to disconnect from the internet for the next week or so. Between Beyonce’s recent Instagram teaser and the full-length trailer for the adaptation of E. L. James’  erotic novel coming this Thursday, Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele will be pretty much inescapable in the days ahead.

Charlie Hunnam
Charlie Hunnam still wants to see Fifty Shades of Grey.

In other Fifty Shades news, Charlie Hunnam, formerly cast to star in the steamy flick, has spoken out about his exit from the project one month after the announcement of his casting. According to the Associated Press, Hunnam spoke at a Fox event on Sunday as part of the TCA press tour – and he only had kind words for E. L. James, Fifty Shades director Sam Taylor-Johnson and the story overall.

"I'm just really excited to see it. I was just really, really invested and wanted to work with (director) Sam (Taylor-Johnson) and play that character. I'm really, really curious."

More: Jamie Dornan "Doesn't Fear" His Fifty Shades Of Grey Role

Hunnam went on to say it's not fair to dismiss author E.L. James' writing as so-called "mommy porn."

"I think people really do that book a disservice when they reduce it to that type of talk," he said. "What (E.L. James) actually created is a really sophisticated dynamic and presented it in a package which was accessible to people who normally would be terrified of that subject ... Actually what she did was pretty brilliant."

Jamie Dornan
Jamie Dornan replaced Hunnam after fans petitioned against the original casting.

Isn’t it just heartwarming when celebrities have each other’s backs? Note, however, that the actor deftly avoided the subject of his own exit from the project. At the time, his casting and that of co-star Dakota Johnson was met with widespread backlash from Fifty Shades fans, who thought that Hunnam in particular was not an appropriate choice to portray the dominant, but emotionally vulnerable Christian Grey. Fans got what they wanted – more or less – with the casting of former Calvin Klein model Jamie Dornan. And all was well in the land of erotic fiction - until the premiere, at least.

Beyonce, Iggy Azalea and Eminem Lead the Way in VMA Nominations 4290289 News

The nominations have been announced for the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, and no one is surprised that Beyonce is a front runner with a staggering eight nominations for various videos from her fifth album, Beyoncé. Close behind with seven nods apiece are Eminem and newcomer Iggy Azalea. Beyonce has been nominated for an impression fifty VMAs in the past and has walked away with twelve, whilst Eminem also holds an impressive eleven "Moonman" trophies.

Beyonce KnowlesBeyonce's videos for tracks including 'Drunk In Love', 'Pretty Hurts' and 'Partition' are nominated

Her fifth album was released in a surprise move at the end of last year, with all tracks accompanied by music videos, so Beyonce will no doubt be thrilled that the risky move has paid off.

Iggy Azalea made headlines earlier this year when she shot to the top of the U.S Billboard Charts with 'Fancy', including a video inspired by 90's romcom cult classic Clueless. Soon after she made chart history as the first artist since The Beatles to simultaneously hold the first and second spots on the U.S Chart when Ariana Grande's track 'Problem', on which she features, went to Number 2.

Iggy AzaleaIggy Azalea is still riding high on the success of 'Fancy'

The VMA nominees this year are a diverse bunch, but refreshingly it's the girls that are leading the pack with only one male artist nominated for Video of the Year; Pharrell's 'Happy'. The other four nominees for the top prize are Beyoncé ft. Jay Z with 'Drunk In Love', Iggy Azalea ft. Charli XCX with 'Fancy', Miley Cyrus's 'Wrecking Ball' and perhaps the underdog of the category, 'Chandelier' by Sia, who took to Twitter to express her excitement.

British hopefuls include Ed Sheeran, whose single 'Sing' is vying for Best Male Video, and Sam Smith, nominated for Artist to Watch.

The 2014 Music Video Awards will take place on August 24th in the Forum in Inglewood California, and will be broadcast worldwide on MTV.

Check Out Some Of Beyonce's Outfits Set For Her Hall Of Fame Exhibition [Pictures] 4293863 News

Beyoncé may not be eligible for enrolment into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame but the museum's curator certainly thinks she deserves to be. The 32-year-old is being honoured at the Cleveland, Ohio based museum as many of her clothes from music videos, performances and red carpet events are being displayed.

A special exhibition is being commissioned by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum and will fill a space previously reserved for those already enrolled into the Hall of Fame, the Hall of Legends. The museum curator, Meredith Rutledge-Borger, explained how the museum had been courting Beyonce for years and that they consider her on par with such great female artists as Aretha Franklin and Janis Joplin. This is one of the reasons why Beyonce's exhibition will be held in the Ahmet Ertegun Main Exhibit Hall.

Rutledge-Borger also stated Beyoncé had sent a vast array of her outfits and the exhibition hall was the only suitable space to display everything. As ABC News reports, Rutledge-Borger said: "When we looked at the depth of the amount of stuff that she was willing to send, we just thought, 'The only way we can really showcase these items is to put them in the Legends of Rock area in the museum,' which really is the spot that we have to pay tribute to legends of rock, which Beyoncé has proven herself to be."

From what we can gather from the museum's announcement here are a few of Beyoncé's outfits which will be displayed at the exhibition:

'Single Ladies' (2008)

Beyoncé's black leotard from her music video for her 2008 single 'Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)' is set to be exhibited. Her asymmetric leotard exposed one shoulder whilst the other side had a long sleeve ending with a jewelled cuff. The 'Single Ladies' video featured Beyoncé dancing against a plain background with two other leotard glad female dancers. The video, dance and song has become one of Beyoncé's best known and best loved. As a result, her appearance in the video has been immortalised by Madame Tussauds Museum which created a wax work of Beyoncé in London.

The Impossible Conversations Met Gala (2012)

Beyoncé attended the Met Gala in New York in 2012 and wore a fabulous black and purple Givenchy dress. The sheer dress raised some eyebrows as it consisted of a nude coloured leotard underneath a floor length transparent gown, embellished with black beads in appropriate areas. The entire outline of her lower body could be made out before the dress went out into a train decorated with black and purple feathers.

Beyoncé's Super Bowl Performance (2013)

Beyoncé performed at the 2013 Super Bowl half time break and stunned the audience with her incredible performance of 'Halo' and her magnificent outfit. Keeping to tradition, Beyoncé wore a black leotard in leather-like material, the neckline of which was cut to just about her belly button. But the most magnificent aspect of all was the lace like pattern which covered her thighs.

One of Beyoncé's outfits from her 2003 debut single 'Crazy In Love' will also be displayed. The single wore a white tank top, blue denim shorts and leather pumps which are also set to go on display.

Beyoncé Will Debut Fashion Exhibit At Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame 4292592 News

Beyoncé's wardrobe will soon be available for your viewing pleasure.

Several outfits that the 32 year-old has performed in will go on display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum even though she hasn't been inducted yet.

On Friday (July 18th), the Rock Hall announced that clothes Beyoncé wore during her Super Bowl performance and music videos will be put in an exhibit, debuting next Tuesday in the Ahmet Ertegun Main Exhibit Hall in its Legends of Rock section.

The different outfits will be placed next to legendary items of clothing worn by the likes of Michael Jackson, David Bowie and Bruce Springsteen.

The 'Drunk In Love' singer will not be eligible for induction as a member of Destiny's Child until 2022, and then as a solo artist in 2027.

The exhibit, which will be displayed in Cleveland, Ohio, will feature Bey's recognizable pieces from the 'Single Ladies' music video, the body suit from her 2013 Super Bowl performance and the Givenchy gown she sported at the 2012 Met Ball, as well as many more.

This project has been in the works "for a really long time," Rock Hall curator Meredith Rutledge-Borge revealed.

"When we looked at the depth of the amount of stuff that she was willing to send, we just thought, 'The only way we can really showcase these items is to put them in the Legends of Rock area in the museum,' which really is the spot that we have to pay tribute to legends of rock, which Beyoncé has proven herself to be," she said in an interview.

"For an artist to be able to have a presence where all of her idols and mentors live, it is a big deal," she said. Beyoncé's fabulous collection of stage outfits in addition to some of her red carpet looks will be the focus of a new exhibition hosted at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, situated in Cleveland, Ohio, hosts numerous exhibitions currently including memorabilia from such acts as The Beatles, Peter Gabriel and Nirvana. Although Beyoncé has not been enrolled into the Hall of Fame, it certainly looks as though she's on her way with this exhibition hosted in an area previously designated for Hall of Famers only.

You can only be enrolled into the Hall of Fame, twenty years after releasing a record. Beyonce will be eligible in either 2022 or 2027, in the first case as a member of Destiny's Child and in the second as a solo artist.

As ABC News reports, Beyoncé's outfits from such events as the 2013 Super Bowl; her black leotard from the 'Single Ladies' music video; her denim shorts and pumps from her 'Crazy in Love' video; and her Givenchy dress from the 2012 Met Gala.

It seems the decision of the Hall to present Beyoncé's clothes in the Ahmet Ertegun Main Exhibit Hall in its Legends of Rock section was twofold. In the first place, Beyoncé was willing to send a great deal of her outfits for the exhibition and that was the space where it would fit appropriately. In the second, Beyoncé does deserve to be considered next to great performers such as Aretha Franklin, The Supremes and Janis Joplin.

Meredith Rutledge-Borger, the curator at the museum, said "When we looked at the depth of the amount of stuff that she was willing to send, we just thought, 'The only way we can really showcase these items is to put them in the Legends of Rock area in the museum,' which really is the spot that we have to pay tribute to legends of rock, which Beyoncé has proven herself to be."

A representative for Beyoncé issued a statement stating that she was "honoured and humbled" by the exhibition. The rep added "it is a big deal" for the singer to "have a presence where all of her idols and mentors live."

Beyonce And Jay Z Were Right At Home At The MetLife Stadium 4283072 News

Yes, hello, it’s still 2014 and Beyonce and Jay Z are still ruling over us all. On Friday night, they took over the MetLife Stadiun in New York for another unforgettable gig. The reviews and recaps, as with all of the On The Run concerts, were stellar. The thing about Jay Z and Beyonce (well, one of the things) is that they’re amazing performers separately, but when they perform together, the universe is in alignment. The Met Life gig was no exception. According to the New York Daily News, “Jay Z and Beyoncé illuminate each other’s songs — trading verses, choruses and hits with a rapport that can be witty, teasing, sexy, sweet, tense, or even conspiratorial. “

We should probably stop talking about these two soon.

We’ve already seen a lot of that in their recorded duets, starting with 03 Bonnie and Clyde, all the way through to Drunk in Love, which showed off an obvious evolution of their style, production resources and yes, their relationship.

All that was evident at the Met Life gig, where the couple sang as many duets as possible. Even though they flow really well together, when they’re performing Solo, the couple tend to have very distinct styles. Beyonce’s disciplined, aggressive performances of songs like Run The World (Girls) and Single Ladies were in stark contrast to Jay Z’s easy, often solo renditions of tracks like Public Service Announcement and N----s in Paris. But the key word for both was confidence, which showed through even more, when the pair joined forces on Crazy in Love, On The Run and some solo tracks, where the pair exchanged verses. We can talk all day about why the Carters are some of the greatest entertainers of our time, but the short version is that fun was had by all.

Beyonce And Jay Z's World Tour French Show To Be Broadcast By HBO 4280946 News

Feeling glum because you didn't manage to get tickets to see Beyoncé and Jay Z present their "On The Run" world tour? Well, worry not: HBO will be bringing the couple's eagerly anticipated live shows to the small screen after taping their two French concerts. While it may not be the same as being there in the throng, HBO's coverage should be the next best thing.

"This is a major musical event that belongs on HBO," said HBO programming president Michael Lombardo. "It's going to be a night to remember," via Variety. HBO announced the exciting news on Thursday (10th July) at the Television Critics Association summer tour.

The footage will reportedly be filmed during the Parisian leg of the tour - the pair's only European appearances - on the 12th and 13th September.

This won't be the first time either of the pair have collaborated with HBO: Beyonce's HBO documentary Life Is But a Dream premiered in February 2013 while Jay Z's Picasso Baby: A Performance Art Film was shown on the cable network in August 2013.

More: Jay Z, Tiesto, and No Doubt excited to headline Global Citizen Festival 2014.

Additionally, the R&B singer is currently featured on HBO's Beyonce: X10, which is a 10-episode series of concert performances.

Jay Z and Beyoncé's "On The Run" tour covers 19 stadiums in the U.S. and two stadium shows in Paris. The shows kicked off on the 25th June in Miami with a jaw-dropping 42-song set and a mind-boggling array of costume changes for Beyoncé and her dance troupe.

Jay Z And Beyonce To Stick Around Post-Tour With "On The Run" HBO Special 4279873 News

What’s an arena tour without a documentary to commemorate it? Beyonce and Jay Z are making sure to stay anchored in the public eye long after their current run ends, by recording a TV special for HBO. It’s an extension of an existing partnership, which currently includes Beyonce: X10, a series of ten 4-minute episodes, currently airing before True Blood, as well as Jay Z's Picasso Baby: A Performance Art Film, which premiered on HBO last August.

The recordings for On The Run, the HBO special will take place at the pair’s gigs at Paris' Stade de France on September 12 and 13. The recording will include 40 songs off Bey and Jay’s catalogue, according to The Hollywood Reporter. This is the first time the media-savvy couple are touring together and so, a major marketing opportunity for HBO.

"This is a major musical event that belongs on HBO," Michael Lombardo, president of HBO programming, said for THR. "It's going to be a night to remember."

The Paris dates will mark the conclusion of the pair’s current run, which also includes 19 dates across the US. It started on June 26 in Miami and the last stateside gig will be in Central Park, NYC.

So it looks like we'll be seeing a lot more of the Carters in the coming months. Any objections? Didn't think so.
