Beyonce And Shakira's Beautiful Number One

by | 23 April 2007

Beyonce and Shakira stormed the UK singles chart this week with their duet Beautiful Liar.

The pop duo overcame the Arctic Monkeys' Brianstorm and last weeks' chart-topper from Justin Timberlake, Give It To Me.

Avril Lavigne's Girlfriend slipped a place to number four while Mark Ronson's Stop Me fell from number two.

Ne-Yo's Because Of You shot up the charts from number 18 to number five. Natasha Bedingfield's I Wanna Have Your Babies was also a riser in the top ten, up eight places to number seven.

In the album charts it was Lavigne who took the honours, coming in at number one with her latest album The Best Damn Thing.

She frustrated Ronson's Version, which entered at number two ahead of Because Of The Times by Kings Of Leon at three.

Nine Inch Nails entered the album chart at number six with their Year Zero record. The next highest new entry was Tiesto's Elements of Life, in at 14.
