Betty White - Betty White Immortalised In Wax
Veteran star Betty White unveiled her first ever waxwork figure at Madame Tussauds in Hollywood on Monday (04Jun12) - at the age of 90.
The Golden Girls star is the oldest celebrity to be immortalised by the museum's artists and bosses admit they are "thrilled to celebrate the actress' accomplishments in film, television and influence in pop culture".
But the funnywoman is baffled the organisation's executives waited so long before deciding to produce the waxwork.
She tells People.com, "The only thing that irks me is they waited until I was 90. A few decades ago would have been swell."
But despite her grievance over the timing, White is delighted with the finished product, adding, "I think they did a wonderful job. I'm really amazed. I'm so impressed. I don't know how they do this, but it's a tremendous honour and I appreciate it... I'm just the luckiest person on the face of the earth. At 90, to have this kind of an honour is amazing."
