Bert Newton Released From Intensive Care After Heart Surgery

Veteran Australian entertainer Bert Newton has been released from intensive care following his quadruple heart bypass surgery on Saturday (24Nov12).
The 74-year-old Tv personality underwent the procedure at Melbourne's Epworth Hospital after he was admitted last week (21Nov12) to treat heart pains.
Following the operation, he was taken to the intensive care unit (Icu) and his wife Patti admitted the star was "not a pretty sight", but Newton's condition is now improving.
A statement from the medical facility reads, "Bert (is) out of Icu and resting in Cardiac Unit to build strength for upcoming rehab program. Only family are visiting."
