LATEST: BERNIE MAC is still alive and recovering in hospital from a bout of pneumonia, contrary to false stories stating he had died.

The comedy star's publicist confirmed on Friday (01Au08) that MAC was being treated for the deadly illness at a clinic in his native Chicago, Illinois.

The media has since been inundated with stories claiming the 50-year-old Ocean's Eleven star - real name Bernard Jeffery MCCollough - had passed away.

But Danica Smith insists, "Bernie MAC is still alive and being treated in a Chicago hospital for pneumonia and is expected to make a full recovery.

"We once again ask that the press respect his privacy and that of his family.

"Mr. MAC is responding well to treatment and will be released soon. He asked that his privacy and that of his family is respected while he gets well."

	Bernie Mac was a GREAT Comedian and he is a Legend. Bernie may have made fun of a lot of people and situations but he was real. Everything he joked about was real . Like he said everyone has a drug user ( or two ) in their family, but in the words of Bernie Mac ( He will say the things that we are scared to say ). I feel like there are more people that enjoy Bernie's work, but the few that think he is to explicit and vulgar are listening to the wrong things, they are not listening to story behind the cuss words. They are merely looking to judge the wrong things. He adds his twist to the story to make it funny, but it does not make the story any less true. The cuss words he use are the ones that the judgmental people want to use , better yet they are words that they use behind closed doors. When other people are more worried about what the other people may say should be more focused on something like their own explicit, and vulgar lifestyles. " Everybody has someone in their family that aint properly right" Basically what I am saying is we can not change things that we have no control over, and the things we have control over if you dont like them change them. Other peo ple you can not change , what we go through we can change to a certain extent . Live Long , Laugh A Lot !!!!! Live and let Live.
