Ben Affleck - Ben Affleck And Matt Damon Back Together For Epic Crime Drama

Ben Affleck and his close friend Matt Damon are reteaming for a biopic of legendary Boston gangster Whitey Bulger. The filmmaking duo, who famously scooped a screenwriting Oscar for Good Will Hunting, are tipped to direct and star in the movie alongside Ben's brother Casey Affleck.
The Hollywood duo, who founded the production company LivePlanet, will begin work on the drama in the near future. Although it is unclear whether Affleck, Damon or another actor would play the lead, Matt told Us Gq Magazine, "If it's a straight biopic, we'll do it over a period of time. But it's always a question of what part of the story do you tell, and biopics are always a little cumbersome. So do we find another way in? We're still figuring it out". As leader of the infamous Winter Hill gang, Whitey Bulger frequently evaded the authorities and was on the Fbi's Top 10 Most Wanted list for decades - he was finally arrested hiding in California. His life story is the subject of numerous movie projects in pre-production, including an adaptation of Edward MacKenzie and Phyllis Karas' book Street Soldier, produced by Twilight actor Peter Facinelli. Damon acknowledged his film has competition but is confident the project will outmuscle the others, saying, "There are a couple of competing movies and I don't think it's been announced yet that we're doing it. But the sooner it's announced the better, just because everyone else will back off, hopefully. I'm really excited about it".
Ben Affleck recently won praise for writing, directing and starring in the crime drama 'The Town', about a group of bank robbers working on the streets of Boston.
