Belzer: 'Choking Accuser Desperate For Attention'

LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT star RICHARD BELZER has blasted a woman who accused him of choking her, insisting she was seeking attention and trying to "embarrass a famous person".
Milan Agnew, an employee at an Apple store in New York's Upper West Side, alleges Belzer, 65, entered the shop on Wednesday (10Mar10), shook and choked her, yelling, "I need help!"
Agnew immediately called police and filed a harassment complaint.
The actor was questioned by cops and later released without charge - and is now speaking out about her claims, which he insists were entirely fabricated for attention.
He tells the New York Post, "The sad part of it was that police officers were called and had to report to the scene and God knows we don't need all that manpower wasted on a trivial accusation that was clearly done either for attention or to embarrass a famous person."
Now Belzer is urging the 21 year old to seek counselling.
He adds, "She wanted attention and she knew who I was and I clearly didn't assault her. It's surprising that Apple would not apologise to such a high-profile, good customer. I've spent thousands of dollars there. I don't want her to be fired, I just want her to seek help.
"I've never had even the slightest rudeness like this at the Apple store. They're all great. I think you have to pass a personality test to work there, and I don't know how this woman slipped through the cracks."
The New York Post claims authorities examined surveillance footage and concluded Belzer had done nothing wrong.
