Popular U.S. radio host Tom Magliozzi has died at the age of 77.
The presenter passed away on Monday (03Nov14) due to complications from Alzheimer's disease.
Magliozzi and his younger brother Ray, who were both auto mechanics with degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, became staples on National Public Radio following the launch of their 1970s Car Talk show, on which they shared jokes and advice about repairing cars.
They became known across the U.S. for their witty chatter and helpful tips, but they stopped recording new episodes in 2012.
The Magliozzi brothers landed an appearance in 2006 Pixar film Cars, and even starred in their own animated series in 2008, playing fictionalised versions of themselves on Click and Clack's As the Wrench Turns.
