Beckham Fans Bid For Childhood Home
The soccer ace grew up in a tiny terrace house in Leytonstone, east London before he reached superstar status and could afford to splash out on a single pad.
The three bedroom house is worth about $380,000 (GBP250,000) - but its connection to the star has seen its value soar to a whopping $1.29 million (GBP850,000).
And businessman Colin Evans, who is handling the sale, claims the offers have been pouring in - with one Australian buyer keen to pay $1 million (GBP1.5million) for the property.
A decision on who gets the property will be decided next week (begs24Nov08).
Beckham lived at the property for two years after his birth in 1975, before he and mum Sandra and dad Ted moved to Chingford, north-east London.
