Beatty's Dick Tracy Battle To Go To Court
LATEST: WARREN BEATTY's battle for the right to make a DICK TRACY movie sequel will go to court after a Los Angeles judge ruled the case should go to trial. The veteran actor/producer, 69, filed suit against Tribune Media Services last year (05), claiming he bought the rights to the DICk Tracy comic strip character in 1985. Beatty played the smooth detective in the 1990 movie opposite his then-girlfriend MADONNA. He is hoping to make a sequel to the movie, but Tribune insists it still owns the rights. A Los Angeles judge rejected Tribune's request to conclude the case in the firm's favour in a hearing on Friday (14JUL06) and ruled it should go to trial.
