Beastie Boys To Be Subject Of New Photo Exhibit
The Beastie Boys' Mike D, Adam 'MCA' Yauch and Ad-Rock will cement their place in the famed Cleveland, Ohio museum on Saturday (14Apr12) and to celebrate the honour, a special three-part Kings of Rock photo exhibit will be staged at hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons' Rush Arts Gallery in New York this week (begs09Apr12).
The first gallery show will feature iconic pictures of the stars taken by Sunny Bak in the 1980s, while photographer Talib Haqq will display his rarely-seen snaps in a selection entitled, Wadeva Images Present Rush Artist Management, 1981 To the Present.
The event will conclude with a presentation and book signing of Def Jam: The First 25 Years of the Last Great Record Label, featuring authors Bill Adler and Dan Charnas.
Simmons co-founded Def Jam Recordings with producer Rick Rubin, who signed the Beastie Boys to the fledgling label in 1986.
