Beady Eye - Beady Eye debut Flick of the Finger

Beady Eye have previewed new track 'Flick of the Finger'.

The group debuted the song on Californian radio station KCRW, and it sees them move from the guitar driven indie rock of their debut, 'Different Gear, Still Speeding' to a spaced-out, progressive sound.

The four-minute song layers a horn section over a repetitive drumbeat and sees singer Liam Gallagher adopt a stream-of-consciousness style, as they track - which has no chorus - builds.

Lyrics include: ''Woke up this morning, I was late, off out on the dark side / With the moon and the room on the wrong side.

''I took a needle for myself right back at the seams / I saw my universal gleam.''

Later he sings: ''It's on; it doesn't matter if all of these tickets are sold / And all the old stories are told / I know you're gonna tell me that you hear every word I say

''But the future gets written today / The future gets written today.''

The song ends with a spoken word section, which appears to be a sample, about the development of powerful weapons which ''will become more and more deadly until they can, with a flick of the finger, tear a million of you to pieces.''

Liam - who is joined in the band by Gem Archer, Andy Bell, Chris Sharrock and new bass player Jay Mehler - has previously talked about the band's new sound, saying: ''I hate the word 'experimenting', but we are definitely experimenting. In five words, it's 'majestic', 'imperial', 'out there' and, 'heavy'.''

Describing their second album - which was produced by TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek - Gem said: ''Some of it is beyond music. It's not a rock 'n' roll record, put it that way.''
