Beady Eye - Beady Eye Axe Japan Tour After Tsunami Horror
British rockers Beady Eye have cancelled a tour of Japan after last month's earthquake and tsunami disaster.
Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher's new band was due to head out to the Far East for a tour in May (11) but announced on Friday (01Apr11) the concerts have been postponed.
In a statement on their official website, a spokesman for the band confirms five dates in Japan and one in Seoul, South Korea, will be rescheduled to September (11).
The statement reads, "Beady Eye have announced that as a result of the continuing challenges being presented in the aftermath of the Japanese Earthquake & Tsunami they have been forced to reschedule their Far East tour of Japan and South Korea in May.
"They will be rescheduling their sold out tour of Japan and their debut gig in Seoul to take place in September... Beady Eye are extremely excited about embarking on their first tour of Japan and South Korea and are disappointed they have to wait a little longer than expected to do so. They ask their fans to be patient, and promise it will be well worth waiting for."
Beady Eye are due to play a concert in London on Sunday (03Apr11) in aid of victims of the disaster. Paul Weller and Primal Scream are also on the bill for the event.
