A body of a man believed to be missing BBC kids' TV presenter MARK SPEIGHT has been found in a remote area of London's Paddington railway station, U.K. police have announced.
Officers state the cause of death of the man, who was found at 10am on Sunday (13Apr08), is "unexplained" - but confirm death did not occur due to the man being hit by a train.
Speight, 42, was reported missing last Monday (7Apr08), three months after the tragic death of his fiancee and fellow children's TV presenter Natasha Collins, who was found dead in the bath of their North London home in January (08).
Relatives of the star have been informed of the discovery, but no formal identification has yet taken place.
Fears grew for the TV star's wellbeing after he failed to meet with Collin's mother Carmen, who reported he was in a "fragile state of mind" after the death of the 31-year-old, urging him "not to give up" during his troubled time of grief.
CCTV recorded the last sighting of the star, which showed him boarding a train on London Underground's Bakerloo Line, which stops at Paddington station as part of its route.
In January, BBC star Speight was arrested in connection with the death of his partner on suspicion of murder and supplying cocaine, but no charges were brought against him.
Collin's death was recorded as death by misadventure, after she had taken a deadly mix of cocaine, sleeping tablets and alcohol. She also had burns covering 60 per cent of her body from scalding hot water from the bath she was found in, a Westminister coroner found.
A popular kids' TV presenter, Speight worked on BBC children's art show SmArt for 14 years, but quit the show in February (08) after the death of Collins.
A BBC representative says, "This is very sad news and our thoughts and sympathies are with Mark's family and friends. Mark was a hugely talented and very popular presenter for many years."
