Batman Returns -- With A Vengeance

Capitalizing on the Batman mania among moviegoers, Warner Bros. Home Media has successfully reintroduced the first two installments of the trilogy, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight , which have moved into the top two spots on the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart for both DVDs and Blu-ray Discs. Home Media magazine observed that for the first film, "the result represents a remarkable return to the top spot for a title that has been on the market for almost seven years." It did not indicate whether a similar reemergence has ever occurred in the past. The two oldies had risen to the second- and third-place positions on the chart the previous week. The Three Stooges , which topped the list at that time, slipped to third place this week. Making its debut at No. 1 on Home Media 's rental chart was Fox's Mirror Mirror , which had been hampered by the studio's 28-day delay imposed on kiosk and online renters.
