Barry Manilow - Barry Manilow 'Duets' Album Released

Barry Manilow has released his 'Duets' album today (03.05.11).

The 'Copacabana' singer collaborated with a number of the world's greatest singers, including Barbra Streisand on 'Islands in the Stream' with Reba McEntire, 'Run to Me' with Dionne Warwick and 'On a Slow Boat to China' with Bette Midler.

Barry – who is well known for tunes 'Could It Be Magic' and 'Mandy' - recently revealed it was an "honour" to sing with all the stars on the 15-track album.

He previously said: "Recording each song was a thrill because these singers are so great, but listening to all of the cuts back-to-back was an overwhelming experience. Getting the opportunity to sing with them was an honour."

The tracks – which include 'Big City Blues' with Mel Torme and 'Blue' with Sarah Vaughan – were recorded from 1980 to 2008 and feature performances by Diane Schuur, Phyllis McGuire and Sheena Easton.

Aside from his 'Duets' album, the 67-year-old singer has been keeping himself busy by hosting a documentary series for BBC Radio 2 entitled 'They Write the Songs', on which he plays rare songs by famous composers of the Great American Songbook.
