Barbra Streisand - Barbra Streisand requested local filming
Barbra Streisand took a lot of persuasion to appear in 'The Guilt Trip' but agreed to take part when director Anne Fletcher agreed to her request for no early set calls, and all filming to take place within a 45-minute commute.
Barbra Streisand agreed to appear in 'The Guilt Trip' after she was promised all filming would take place near her home.
The 70-year-old star returned to acting in Anne Fletcher's forthcoming movie - which also stars Seth Rogen - and made a string of demands to ensure her commitment wouldn't be too disruptive to her normal routine, including stipulating there would be no early calls on set.
She said: ''It wasn't an easy decision, but Anne Fletcher was so determined to have me in her film that she spent a whole year trying to convince me. Once I accepted the part, I had the production rent a set that wasn't more than 45 minutes away from my house and instructed everyone to not come and pick me up before 8.30 am, because me and Jim [husband James Brolin] hate waking up early in the morning. Oh well, they accepted all my requests, so I ended up doing the film.''
As well as arranging the filming schedule to suit her life, Barbra also admitted she used to make sure her European tour dates were arranged so she could make the most of shopping opportunities.
She said: ''I like design and architecture and sometimes I had my show dates in England and Germany to overlap with the dates of some flea markets just so I could go shopping for antiques for my house.''
