Barbra Streisand - Barbra Streisand Pokes Fun At Mitt Romney During Live Show
Never one to hide her true colours away, Barbra Streisand flew the Democrat’s colours at her recent homecoming concert at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York as she laid into Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney and discussed the current political climate.
During Thursday’s (October 11th) show, the first of two shows at the new venue with the final one tonight (Oct. 13th), the showbiz icon took a break from singing the hits for a moment in order to sing a more civil-minded tune. In lieu of one particular focal point in American politics, one regarding a fictitious street and its famous feathered inhabitant, Streisand said to the audience, "He's [Mitt] a good actor. [He's] a chameleon. It's great. I love Big Bird and I hope no one tells Romney how to get to Sesame Street… or to Pennsylvania Avenue." .
The singer then went on to speak on some more topics close to her heart as well as politics, in particular she went on to chat about women’s rights before kicking into one of her many encores of the evening with ‘Happy Days Are Here Again’. .
The Barbra Live tour leaves New York tonight and heads to Canada for three shows before heading back to the States, when the songstress will play in Chicago on the 26th of October. The tour finishes at the end of next month with two shows in Los Angeles.
