Badu Fights To Save Dad's Theatre

R+B star ERYKAH BADU is fighting to save the derelict theatre her father once owned in Dallas, Texas. The ON + ON singer is keen to revamp the Black Forest, a former 1940s cinema, as a community centre after the place fell into disrepair. Badu's executive assistant DENISE HARPER says, "We'd love to partner with some business venture that would be vital to the community... something that helps the community survive." To date, Badu has helped turn the forgotten venue into a HIV testing clinic and African drumming workshop.
