Design duo Mark Badgley and James Mischka got married in a civil service ceremony last Friday (22.03.13).
Mark Badgley and James Mischka have got married.
Design duo Badgley Mischka - who have dressed the likes of Sharon Stone, Oprah Winfrey and Teri Hatcher - tied the knot on Friday (22.03.13) at New York City Hall, after 28 years together.
The sole witness at the low-key ceremony was Badgley's twin sister, O'Hara, according to WWD.
The designers first met at the renowned Parsons School of Design while they were honing their craft, before launching their Badgley Mischka label in 1988 and branching out into bridal wear in 1993.
The pair invited 22 of their closest friends to join them after the ceremony at SoHo bistro Raoul's, where they enjoyed a beautifully decorated wedding cake courtesy of Sylvia Weinstock.
Badgley Mischka have admitted in the past the best perk of their job is creating red carpet looks for A-list celebrities to wear.
Mark said: ''When we started, that whole red carpet thing hadn't begun yet. But now it's snowballed, and it's fun.
''There's nothing that's more of an honor than when you see one of your dresses marching down the red carpet, especially when you know the history behind it: what it took to get it through the sewing machine, how it was conceived from the initial sketch.''
