Axl Rose Bottled Off Stage In Dublin
AXL ROSE was bottled off stage on Wednesday during GUNS N' ROSES' gig at the O2 in Dublin. The incident comes just days after the band were criticised for their sets at last weekend's Reading and Leeds festival. Rose and the band were just four songs into their concert at one of Ireland's biggest music venues, when continuous booing and bottling meant they were forced to leave the stage. British newspaper The Guardian reports that Rose initially tried to calm the baying crowd, telling them, "If you don't want to have fun, all you've got to do is let us know", but his efforts were in vein, and the heckling and bottle throwing intensified, forcing the band to leave.
After a prolonged state of confusion as to whether the show would continue, the gig's promoters confirmed that Rose had not left the arena, and the band eventually returned to complete their set at 11.20pm, one hour after they had left the stage.
Despite the controversy, GUNS N' ROSES played a hit laden set in Dublin, performing fan favourites such as 'Welcome to the Jungle', and 'Sweet Child O' Mind' - they signed off with the traditional set-closer, 'Paradise City'.
