Avril Lavigne - Avril Lavigne Considers Ex-husband Part Of The Family

Avril Lavigne, the American singer-songwriter who split from husband Deryck Whibley in 2010, insists she is still extremely close to the Sum 41 rocker.Speaking to the Sunday Times Magazine ahead of the release of her new album 'Goodbye Lullaby', Lavigne confirmed that her ex-husband had collaborated on the record and that the pair still have a mutual respect for each other. The 22-year-old added, "We're very good friends. He's family to me. We both respect and care for each other very much. We're in a great place.He's one of the most talented people I know. He did an awesome job on my album". The singer, who has sold over 30 million albums worldwide, married Whibley in an intimate ceremony in 2006. It was announced on 17th September 2009 that the couple had split and divorce papers were filed shortly after. The marriage officially came to an end on 16th November 2010 and it has since been reported that Lavigne is dating the reality television star Brody Jenner.

Avril Lavigne, who releases her new album today (8th March 2011) is set to make a number of upcoming promotional appearances. The singer-songwriter will perform on 'The View' tomorrow (9th) before dropping in on 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' on the 14th.
