A teenager from Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, has been crowned the winner of the Australian X Factor and has vowed to return to his hometown for a celebratory concert. 16-year-old Reece Mastin won the competition on Tuesday (22th November 2011) and is currently sitting atop the iTunes chart in the country, according to BBC News.

Reece moved to Australia from Scunthorpe with his family six years ago, but friends at home were cheering him on during Tuesday's final. The teenager, who turns 17 tomorrow, said he wanted to return to his hometown and play for his old friends, saying, "I'm feeling good. It's not a bad birthday present at all.I'm trying to come back to Scunthorpe and perform a few shows there". Reece got a standing ovation for his duet with Kylie Minogue during the live X Factor final and the teenager spoke of his delight at sharing the stage with the pop superstar, saying, "Kylie was incredible. She was a beautiful person as well so it was an honour to sing with her". Although he hasn't been back to the UK for "a long time", Reece has kept in touch with his grandparents and uncle who still live in Scunthorpe and who watched the final on Tuesday.

The teenager will now head into the studio to begin recording his debut album. First single 'Good Night' is available on Itunes now.
