Dj - Australian Dj To Appear At Nurse Death Inquest
One of the Australian Djs who made a prank call to the hospital treating Catherine, Duchess Of Cambridge is to give evidence at an inquest into the death of the nurse who answered the phone.
Mel Greig and her fellow 2Day Fm co-host Michael Christian hit headlines in December (12) when they duped staff at London's King Edward Vii's Hospital into giving them information about the pregnant royal's condition.
However, the joke turned to tragedy when the nurse who took the prank call, Jacintha Saldanha, was found dead three days later in a suspected suicide, sparking an investigation.
Greig, who was suspended from her job after the incident, has now agreed to give evidence at a U.K. inquest into Saldanha's death.
A statement from the Dj's lawyers reads, "Ms Greig fully understands their (Saldanha's family) need for answers, which is why she has taken this step to appear as an individual at the inquest. She is determined to address any questions surrounding her role in these tragic events as part of the inquest. Ms Greig wants the family to know she will answer any questions the coroner or the family's lawyers may have."
The hearing will be held on 2 May (13).
