Atp's 'I'll Be Your Mirror' Festival Relocated To New York's Pier 36 Venue

16 July 2012

Festival promoters All Tomorrows Parties (ATP) have announced the relocation of the 2012 'I'll Be Your Mirror' USA festival to New York City's indoor venue Pier 36.

Previously a New Jersey-based festival, 'I'll Be Your Mirror' has been moved due to limited accommodation for festival goers at Ashbury Park among other things despite the Manhattan move being initially planned for 2013.

Barry Hogan from ATP made an apologetic statement: 'We hope that the new venue will make for an incredible event and open up many other accommodation options to fans who were unable to find rooms in Ashbury Park. We sincerely apologise to those inconvenienced by the move.' He goes on to add that refunds are available in case the relocation or recently cancelled acts have posed a considerable problem. Comedian LOUIS C.K. was among those who had to cancel due to 'scheduling conflicts' according to his management. Folk singer Sharon Van Etten, punk rockers Reigning Sound and the post-industrial Factory Floor have also, regrettably, been forced to cancel.

It's not all bad news, though! New additions to this September 21st - 23rd event include Philip Glass and Tyondai Braxton who will headline Friday and Sunday headliners Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Also among the new acts are Sonic Youth 's LEE RANALDO (Fri), alternative rockers Chavez (Sat) and DJ Jonathan Toubin (Sun). They will join already announced Saturday headliners The Afghan Whigs whose frontman, Greg Dulli, is also helping organise the event. Friday is also comedy night with newcomer Kurt Braunohler and comedienne Janeane Garofalo.

Highly praised by NPR who called the festival the best 'in terms of vibe', tickets for the event are available at $199 for the whole weekend, $60 for the Friday and $75 for Saturday and Sunday.
