Asner Making Tv Comeback

Veteran actor ED ASNER is breathing new life into his TV career - the 80 year old is set to co-star in a new U.S. sitcom about a single mum.
Asner has signed on to play the misanthropic neighbour to a blue-collar working mum played by Melissa Peterman in new CMT network show Working Class.
Asner, who turns 81 next month (15Nov10), is best-remembered for his signature role as journalist Lou Grant on hit 1970s sitcom The Mary Tyler Moore Show. It's his first role as a series regular since 2006 comedy Studio 60.
His return to TV follows recent late-career successes for two former Mary Tyler Moore co-stars - Betty White is experiencing another wave of success with her own U.S. series, Hot in Cleveland, while Cloris Leachman features in TV comedy Raising Hope.
Asner's 12-episode comedy is scheduled to premiere in January (11).
