Publicist Dismisses Simpson/wentz Fall-out Over Singer Rexh 1685270 18th August 2010 ASHLEE SIMPSON-WENTZ's publicist has slammed reports the pop star mum has fallen out with her husband PETE WENTZ over his choice for a new singer.
Sources claim Simpson-Wentz is far from happy that sexy Bebe Rexh has been chosen to front the former Fall Out Boy star's new act, Black Cards - because she fears her man will fall for the exotic-looking New Yorker.
The insider tells In Touch magazine, "Ashlee is making a huge effort to make sure that Bebe feels like she belongs - and knows that Ashlee likes her, but Ashlee is so insecure, it brings out the worst in her.
"She was so worried about Pete straying that she was fighting with him constantly about Bebe. Her friends told her to stop being so controlling or it would drive him away. Finally, she listened. Now that she's giving him more space, they're getting along much better."
But Simpson-Wentz's representative insists there's no truth to the story, stating, "Both (Ashlee and Pete) are committed to their marriage and are each other's biggest support system professionally and personally."

She tells UsMagazine.com, "We would love to have a big family. (But) you can never plan something like that."
The star admits little Bronx is growing up so fast and she's treasuring witnessing every step in his development.
She says, "Every day is like a milestone, I swear. It is the best thing. I mean, being a mother, taking the time that I have taken off just to be with him has really been incredible. Every day he is learning something new and growing. It is fantastic. I feel very fortunate."

Wentz Baffled By Bilingual Son 1687528 22nd July 2010 PETE WENTZ is stunned by his son's grasp of Spanish because neither he nor his wife ASHLEE SIMPSON-WENTZ speak the language.
The rocker is dad to 20-month-old Bronx Mowgli, who has recently surprised his parents with his bilingual skills.
And Wentz is convinced the toddler must have picked up the foreign language from his nanny.
Wentz tells E! Online, "He's speaking some Spanish! He's started saying, 'Si.' I always ask him stuff, and he'll be like, 'Si'.
"I speak pretty bad Spanish but we have this fantastic nanny and she speaks Spanish to him. I think it's really important to be global."

Pete Wentz's New Challenge 2549883 12th July 2010

Pete Wentz has revealed his new band offers him the chance to "try something different".

The former Fall Out Boy bassist - who is married to 'Pieces of Me' hitmaker Ashlee Simpson - admitted when the group first went on hiatus, he didn't know what to do with himself, but he is now pleased he has been given a break to focus on something new.

Writing on new band Black Cards website, he said: "When FOB went on hiatus, I wasn't really sure what to do with myself. I know I wanted to keep travelling the world with my family. We had been to Jamaica recently. I spent a lot of time hanging around the beaches and I started to get inspired again.

"I started collaborating via email with my friend Sam, who I knew from working on 'As Cruel as School Children'. He had been listening to a lot of old British stuff and we mashed that with the island vibe in the studio."

The 'Sugar, We're Goin Down' hitmaker - who announced Fall Out Boy would be taking an "indefinite hiatus" last year - admitted he feels the new tracks he has laid down with Black Cards will have an "everlasting imprint" on people.

He explained: "I could imagine them having an everlasting imprint, like people would dance to this stuff forever. I could feel these songs really meant something. Not just in Jamaica but globally, crossing through culture and language.

"I know this won't be for everyone but honestly it's a chance for me to try something different."

Jessica Simpson In 'Real Family' 2552884 6th April 2010

Jessica and Ashlee Simpson have never gone off the rails because they are part of a "real family", according to dad Joe Simpson.

The former Baptist minister, who manages both of his daughters' careers, is proud that his girls live relatively normal lives and haven't been seduced by the trappings of fame like so many other young stars.

Joe - who is still married to Jessica and Ashlee's mother Tina - said in an interview with Fox News: "We have a real family. You can't just put these kids out in the world and they're on their own. I can remember a time when Jessica was singing at Madison Square Garden and her outfit ripped before she went on. We were there for her."

Despite his reputation as a controlling dad, Joe is adamant he has never told either of his daughters who they should date.

He stated: "I don't tell my girls who to date or marry or what to do."

Ashlee, 22, is married to rocker Pete Wentz and the couple have a 16-month-old son Bronx Mowgli together.

Jessica, 27, was wed to singer Nick Lachey but the couple divorced in June 2006. Since then she has dated womanising musician John Mayer and Dallas Cowboys football player Tony Romo and was recently romantically linked to Smashing Pumpkins rocker Billy Corgan, although she insists they are just friends.

Despite her painful split from Nick, Joe insists he has no hard feelings towards his former son-in-law - who tied the knot with Jessica when she was 22.

Joe said: "I have nothing against Nick. But they got married very young. I told Jessica, 'You're going to hit an age when it's all going to be clear to you - life, that is - and you'll know what you want to do.'

"I do blame 50 per cent of their break-up on the media."

Kara Dioguardi's Idol Question 2553415 18th March 2010

Kara DioGuardi says replacing Simon Cowell on 'American Idol' is going to be difficult.

The judge and songwriter admits there are few people who will be able to fill Simon's shoes when he leaves at the end of the current season, but she thinks record boss Tommy Mottola could be a good choice.

She said: "Finding someone who has a lot of knowledge about music and who is also an interesting character is going to be a daunting task.

"I like Tommy Mottola, because he has launched the careers of a lot of superstars. but whoever gets the call has got to be a character."

She also admits she sometimes finds it difficult to believe she is on 'American Idol' with such big personalities - chat show host Ellen DeGeneres, record producer Randy Jackson and host Ryan Seacrest.

She said: "Could I be next to bigger people? My God - Ryan Seacrest, Ellen, Simon and Randy! Sometimes I look in the hallway and think, 'There's a billion dollars in this building!' "

Kara - who has written songs for Pink, Ashlee Simpson and Gwen Stefani in the past - claims some of the viewers of the show are particularly critical about her judging ability.

She told Women's Health Magazine: "People are so mean. they'll go, 'Kara's stupid. She repeats whatever Randy says. Paula's way better' or 'she's ugly'. I'm like, really? I may not be some beauty but ugly.

Simon is leaving 'American Idol' to begin a US version of his British talent show 'The X Factor' - it has not yet been confirmed who will be on the judging panel for his new venture, although Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole is thought to be lined up for a role.

Pete Wentz Wants A Bayonet 2553472 16th March 2010

Pete Wentz says a bayonet is the best weapon to use to defend your family.

The Fall Out Boy rocker - who has a 16-month-old son, Bronx Mowgli, with his wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz - thinks the knife, which is usually fitted over a rifle, is much safer than just having a gun in your home.

He tweeted: "I really wish bayonets were primary weapons still. I feel like I'd be good at using one and it's practical home defence."

According to Pete, the advantages of having a bayonet at your house is that you are unlikely to kill an intruder if you use it, as opposed to firing a gun.

In another posting on his twitter page, he wrote: "I mean you don't bayonet somebody by accident and no one gets killed cleaning a bayonet."

Personal safety is something that is often at the forefront of Pete's mind.

The 30-year-old musician previously confessed he is convinced he is going to be murdered and sometimes won't open his front door because he is paranoid someone is there waiting to kill him.

Pete - who suffers from bipolar disorder - said: "I refuse to answer my front door because I'm convinced someone is going to murder me.

"I used to think that some day I'd end up murdering a close friend or relative. Now it's reversed and I'm convinced it's going to happen to me.

That's the way I'm going out, I'm completely sure of it. So I refuse to answer the front door - it greatly minimises that risk."

Happy Snacker Ashlee Simpson 2553932 1st March 2010

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is "always" eating.

The singer-and-actress - who is currently starring in a production of 'Chicago' on New York's Broadway - admits she struggles to curb her cravings for calorific treats.

She said: "I always eat. I'm definitely a chocolate girl. I like chocolate. I've got these Hershey's Pieces in my dressing room at the theatre, so I definitely snack on those all day. Um, I had Taco Bell last night. I got a Mexican Pizza. On my way home, I was like 'I've gotta go home from the theatre, get Taco Bell and go to bed.' "

Despite her snacking habits, Ashlee insists she never feels bad about indulging in her favourite treats.

When asked when she last felt guilty, she said: "I don't know. What would I feel guilty for? I don't know. Eating too much? That doesn't really make me feel guilty though."

Food also plays a large part in Ashlee's favourite ways to relax with her husband, rocker Pete Wentz.

Ashlee - who has 15-month-old son Bronx with Pete - added to America's OK! magazine: "Our date nights are usually at home. Pete's always doing something romantic. We cook for each other, chill, watch TV."
