Animated festive film Arthur Christmas has beaten the vampires and werewolves in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 to the top of the U.K. box office.
The Twilight sequel has kept the family movie off the top of the countdown for the past two weeks, but now film fans have pushed the seasonal movie, featuring the voices of Bill Nighy and James MCAvoy, to number one thanks to takings of $3 million (£1.9 million) over the weekend (02-04Dec11).
Happy Feet Two has danced its way to number two with ticket sales of $2.6 million (£1,686,197). The Twilight sequel has fallen to three.
Rounding out the top five British movies are Martin Scorsese's Hugo and The Thing.
