Arrested Development: Fourth Series To Debut On Netflix In 2013

The creator of the popular U.S. sitcom Arrested Development (starring Jason Bateman) has said that he is open to the idea of a fifth and sixth series. The fourth series of the show will start production this summer, according to The Wrap and it is thought that an Arrested Development movie will be filmed after that, potentially followed by Season 5 and Season 6, if all goes to plan.

The show's creator, Mitch Hurwitz, said "The show's audience has grown over the last six years because of (viewers streaming it). It's been like putting jokes in a bottle and then having them come back years later to say, 'Ha ha.'" Season four will be debuting on the online streaming service Netflix in 2013. The format of the show will be changing, with each episode centering around one character, updating the audience on what had been happening in that character's life, to "build the peril" in the characters' lives, until they all come together in the movie. In an unusual move, the new episodes will all premiere on Netflix on the same day, giving fans the chance to spend time with them and take in the finer details of each character's story.

Hurwitz added "There's going to be some mystery sprinkled throughout this (but) instead of watching one a week and try to get ahead of it, the hope is (fans) will watch them all together and then go back and look for clues and connections."
