In an apparent effort to distance itself as far as possible from the likes of any potential wardrobe malfunction, Fox has given its hit new series Glee the plum post-Super Bowl time slot and, according to widespread accounts, also plans to mount the half-time period around performances by the cast. The choice, first reported by the New York Times, may come as a surprise to many who regard Glee -- which follows a fictitious high-school glee club -- as about as far removed from football as opposite goal lines are from one another. In a related matter, Glee , along with Modern Family, was honored with the prestigious Peabody Award on Monday. Fox also announced that Glee will air at 8 00 p.m. on Tuesdays beginning next season, followed by new comedies Raising Hope and Running Wilde . After the Super Bowl it will then switch to Wednesdays to make room for a new season of American Idol whose performance shows on Tuesdays will be lengthened to 90 minutes, while the results shows on Wednesday will be pared to 30 minutes.
