Arctic Monkeys Win Two Nme Awards

Rockers Arctic Monkeys emerged triumphant at last night's (01MAR07) NME Awards in London, winning two trophies including Best Album.
The British band's WHATEVER PEOPLE SAY I AM, THAT'S WHAT I'M NOT debut disc was honoured, and they also picked up Best Music DVD for SCRUMMY MAN.
Muse were named Best British Band, My Chemical Romance won Best International Band and Jamie T collected Best Solo Artist at the Hammersmith Palais event.
Primal Scream, who were honoured with the Godlike Genius Award, were joined by ex-CLASH guitarist Mick Jones for a cover of The Clash's (WHITE MAN) IN HAMMERSMITH PALAIS. The performance took on an extra resonance as the venue is to be demolished later this year (07).
