Arcade Fire Takes European Number One

ARCADE FIRE have replaced EMINEM at the top of the European albums chart to score their first number one in the continent with THE SUBURBS.
The Canadian band have landed a trans-Atlantic double by taking charge of Europe a day after their latest release topped the U.S. albums countdown.
Eminem's Recovery slips to two after three consecutive weeks in pole position, while Lady Gaga is still flying high at three with The Fame.
Meanwhile, in the European singles chart, Shakira makes it three weeks at number one with Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) - the track chosen as the official song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP's We Speak No Americano sits at two and Alejandro by Lady Gaga takes third place in the new rundown.
