Anthony Sedlak Dies Unexpectedly, Aged 29
10 July 2012Sedlak is best known to Canadian TV viewers for his show The Main, on the Food Network, as well as his appearances on Family Cook Off. The young chef is often praised for creating easy, yet appetizing recipes, which led him to win the Food Network's Superstar Chef Challenge, as well as landing himself his own show on the network. The purpose of The Main, was for Sedlak to prepare a 'stylish' dish, featuring one primary ingredient, in each episode. He went on to publish a cook book of the same name, which became a bestseller.
Anthony Sedlak first embarked on his culinary career as a teenager. He cut his teeth at the Grouse Mountain Ski Resort when he was 13 years old and went on to study on a culinary arts course at Vancouver Community College. For two years, he worked as an apprentice at La Trompette in London, before progressing to become an executive sous-chef. At the time of his death, he had been busy re-working the Toronto Don Valley Hotel and Suites restaurant and room service menus.
