Janet Street-Porter was asked to appear on 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' so hosts Ant and Dec could get "revenge"

The Geordie duo admit they regularly draw up a wish list of their ideal contestants and were delighted when the broadcaster agreed to take part in the 2004 series because she had previously criticised them.

Ant - full name Anthony McPartlin - revealed: "Janet came on the show and had said she didn't like us and was quite derogatory about us in one of her columns.

"We'd never met the woman. When she had to do a few Bushtucker Trials it was brilliant. In one, she had to put her hand in a tank full of snakes and every time she got bitten I had a really lovely feeling of revenge. Inside I was chuckling."

Ant and Dec - full name Declan Donnelly - insist they don't normally request contestants they dislike and are always happy when producers listen to their suggestions

Ant said: "We always give our list of who we want on and sometimes we get them."

Dec added: "David Dickenson was one of ours, as was George Takei. They were both brilliant - they should let us pick more."
