Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway has announced her engagement to actor and jewellery designer boyfriend Adam Shulman after three years together. The 'Dark Knight' actress was first spotted by People magazine sporting what appeared to be an engagement ring, and her representative subsequently confirmed the good news.
Hathaway, 29, began her relationship with Shulman following a miserable split from real estate mogul Raffaello Follieri in 2008 - the Italian pled guilty to several counts of money laundering, conspiracy and wire fraud in a case that came to be known as the 'Vati-Con Scandal'. Follieri was deemed to have misappropriated a $50 million investment from billionaire Ronald Burkle, intended to buy up Roman Catholic churches in the United States. The actress, who was not implicated in the scandal, had claimed she wanted to remain single following the tumultuous split but immediately fell in love with Shulman, saying, "I am very much in love with him.Adam totally ruined my plan.I was really actually looking forward to a little alone time, and then I fell in love like a fool!"
Following recent high profile performances in Alice in Wonderland, Love and Other Drugs and One Day, Anne Hathaway next stars as Catwoman in Christopher Nolan's third Batman movie 'The Dark Knight Rises'. She has also landed the role of Fantine in Tom Hooper's movie adaptation of Victor Hugo's classic novel 'Les Miserables'.
