Anna Kendrick - Anna Kendrick Chopped Off Fingernail During Movie Cooking Classes

Kendrick and Crawford play food truck chefs in the romantic comedy and they enrolled in culinary classes to brush up on their kitchen skills ahead of the shoot.

But the Up in the Air star suffered a nasty cut as she raced through a slicing task - and tried to brush off the pain before realising just how serious her injury was.

She tells WENN, "Yes I did cut my fingernail off which is super f**king gross! It's not a cute battle scar where you want to show off.

"Chace and I took some cooking lessons and when I did it we were in that kind of competitive place. I was so embarrassed that I cut myself that I was like, 'No big deal, I'll just throw a Band Aid (bandage) on this.'

"It wasn't until I got home later that I saw this fingernail was almost completely gone. It literally woke me up in the middle of the night because it hurt so bad. It's just your finger so I felt like a wuss but it's fine now."
