Animal Rights Group PETA Slams Beyonce For Her Choice of Outfit
Beyonce has managed to anger animal rights groups twice in a short space of time, as well as causing controversy with the lip synching scandal that surrounded her performance of the national anthem at President Obama's inauguration, she also raised eyebrows for her performance during the Super Bowl half-time show.
PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) admit "[The] game was great," why wouldn't they? But their issue wasn't with the Baltimore Ravens win, or the songs chosen by Beyonce and her Destiny's Child pals. No, it was her attire, NYDailyNews report. "We would take a bet that if Beyonce watched our video exposes, she'd probably not want to be seen again in anything made of snakes, lizards, rabbits or other animals who died painfully," Peta said in a statement. "Today's fashions are trending toward humane vegan options, and Beyonce's Super Bowl outfit missed the mark on that score."
She also managed to anger them with her winter warming mink coat, which she wore to the inauguration. What does it mean when one of the most popular musicians in the world endorses the fur trade in such a dramatic way?" Peta wrote. The group were also quick to point out that first lady Michelle Obama does not wear fur. Beyonce did address her singing critics by belting out an impromptu version of The Star Spangled Banner.
