Angie Miller - Angie Miller Sensationally Booted From American Idol
Angie Miller became the latest contestant to be axed from 'American Idol' last night (09.05.13), despite being the hot favourite to win.
Angie Miller was eliminated from 'American Idol' last night (09.05.13).
The singer was considered to be the favourite to win the latest season of the US singing competition, but was shockingly cut from the contest during this week's semi-finals, leaving Candice Glover and Kree Harrison to battle it out for the crown.
The singer wowed the audience with three songs on Wednesday's show (08.05.13) and earned high praise from the show's judges - including Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and Randy Jackson - for her performances, which included Sir Elton John's 'Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word', Pink's 'Try' and Emeli Sande's 'Maybe'.
The 19-year-old contestant was overcome with emotion as she sang her farewell song on Thursday's episode and said her elimination was ''bitter and sweet''.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: ''It's bitter and sweet. I definitely thought that with the whole hometown visit and how huge social media has been ... I did feel kind of confident that I was going to make it.''
Despite missing out on the 'American Idol' prize, the show's judges predict big things for Angie in the music industry.
She said: ''They all pretty much said, 'Girl, this is not over. You're so going to do incredible things.' Coming from them, that means everything. They brought me here.''
