Angelina Jolie - Angelina Jolie's Custom Engagement Ring: All The Details

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt will reportedly marry in France later this summer, but all the attention is still focused on Jolie's custom made engagement ring, which Pitt had Beverly Hills jeweller Robert Pocop make for his bride-to-be, reports People magazine.
The jeweller says the Hollywood actor "had the vision" for the custom-cut ring, which features diamonds set on a band of yellow gold. An independent expert estimates the ring could weigh in at more than 10 carats in total, with the price tag thought to be around $1 million. Jolie first alerted the press to her engagement after debuting the ring at a private event at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art on April 11, 2012. The couple have been together seven years and have six children together. They had previously spoken of putting off their nuptials until same-sex marriage was legalized across the United States, however, a source said, "They've reached a stage where their family has jelled".
According to the New York Post, Brangelina are likely to marry this summer at their chateau in the south of France, with Hollywood pals George Clooney and Johnny Depp among the invitees. Early reports suggest Brad's ex Jennifer Aniston could even attend the ceremony after giving her blessing to the engagement.

I imagine the preparation for it is going to be big,” Jolie said about the role (quote via The Mirror.) “It’s one of those that you think maybe that’s the one you put everything into and that’s where you end it, that’s where you finish – in a great way.”

On Friday, it was revealed that she and Brad are also set to star together in love story By The Sea – a film Angelina wrote and will direct. The two films will be the couple's first shared projects since 2005's Mr. And Mrs. Smith.

Who Could Play The Female 'Thor' On The Big Screen? 4290282 News

In a move that many comic book aficionados may not have expected, Marvel Comics has announced that one of their most dominant male characters has been given a sex change. In the new comic series due out in October, Thor, based on the Norse God of Thunder and one of Marvel's 'big three', will be a female character. But this isn't just big news for fans of the printed material.

The character Thor has had a huge impact on screen as well and has been involved in two hugely successful films, Thor and Thor: The Dark World and is an integral part of The Avengers ensemble and its forthcoming sequel.

So, the big question is: who will play this new female fighting force when it inevitably hits the cinemas?

Angelina Jolie

An obvious choice simply because she was one of the first women to break the female action figure barrier.

Angelina JolieAngelina Jolie is the original action actresses

She took no prisoners as the titular character in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and its sequel, was prepared to kill her husband as a skilled, assassin in Mr and Mrs Smith and showed no mercy as a wanted CIA operative in Salt.

But, as Jolie expands her dark side through more subtle modes such as the evil Queen in Maleficent while developing her own personal reputation as a Special Envoy for the United Nations: has she grown out of guns, hand to hand combat and playing rough?

Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer LawrenceJennifer Lawrence is a favourite in Hollywood

Maybe Angie could pass the mantle on to the new generation of kick-ass women in which Jennifer Lawrence fits as a result of her portrayal of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games trilogy and Mystique in X-Men First Class and X-Men Days of Future Past.

Like Jolie, Lawrence is not simply a one-woman action heroine, there to save the day and do little else, but is very capable of playing a wide variety of characters and emotional possibilities as evident from the two Oscars that must surely sit somewhere very proudly in her home.

Emma Stone

Emma StoneEmma Stone was great as Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man

After displaying a feisty performance as Gwen Stacy, love interest of the hero in The Amazing Spider-Man, could Stone be ready to swap her supporting role for a lead one?

Her acting skills have shown her to be capable of stunning, funny, interesting and powerful characters which could be everything that our new female Thor is looking to be.

Rooney Mara

Rooney MaraRooney Mara was superb in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

A perfect fit as the complicated heroine in the American remake of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Mara is dark, brooding and immeasurably talented.

With such striking looks and just a hint of deviousness in her stare, Mara could prove to be the dark horse that really brings out a depth of character in Marvel's new female force.

Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway
Anne Hathaway was a devious Catwoman

Anne Hathaway's gentle character created from such roles as reluctant princess Mia in The Princess Diaries and its later sequel and put-upon assistant Andy Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada did not prepare the world for her dazzlingly duplicitous turn as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises.

But surprise us she did and, consequently, put herself very much in the running for such as role as the female God of Thunder.

Emily Blunt

Emily BluntEmily Blunt is flying the flag for Britain in Hollywood

Another Devil Wears Prada contender, Emily Blunt is flying the flag for England in Hollywood with a recent spate of film successes including Looper and Edge of Tomorrow.

In both roles her character knows how to use a gun and surely a hammer cannot much harder to wield?

George Clooney & Angelina Jolie VS. Daily Mail - Clooney Refuses Apology & Jolie Takes Legal Action 4282646 News

The Daily Mail hasn't been enjoying the greatest week and whatever relationship the British tabloid had with Hollywood darlings George Clooney and Angelina Jolie is now in tatters. On the up side for the paper, readership will no doubt have increased owing to the scandalous articles the editors saw fit to publish.

George Clooney
George Clooney has addressed the Mail's story and apology via a US news website.

Read More: George Clooney Doesn't Accept Daily Mail Apology For Publishing False Story About Fiancé's Mother.

Scandal No. 1 began when the Mail published an article (on Monday 7th July) alleging the mother of Clooney's fiancé, Amal Alamuddin, was against their marriage on religious grounds. The article implied Baria Alamuddin was typical of members of the Druze religion in not accepting marriages with outsiders. In the Mail's typically insensitive manner, the article further claimed some Druze marrying outside their religion had even been killed or mutilated as a result.

Understandably, 53-year-old Clooney was appalled. He addressed the issue in an essay published on USA Today. He stated, in addition to the story being entirely unfounded, that the Mail was guilty of a far greater crime, of being inflammatory and exploitative of religious differences. Clooney wrote "the irresponsibility, in this day and age, to exploit religious differences where none exist, is at the very least negligent and more appropriately dangerous."

The Mail issued a statement on their website apologising for the article and promising its removal, whilst still claiming the story had been "supplied in good faith by a reputable and trusted freelance journalist." The Mail further stated "Mr. Clooney's assurance that the story is inaccurate and we apologize to him, Miss Amal Alamuddin and her mother, Baria, for any distress caused."

Amal Alamuddin
The article allegedly the mother of Clooney's bride-to-be Amal Alamuddin was opposed to their wedding on religious grounds.

The Mail, of course, entirely missed the point. Clooney refused to accept the apology and claimed the Mail had not shown any true contrition but simply attempted to cover up their blunder. In a second response, also published on USA Today, Clooney wrote "The Daily Mail has printed an apology for insinuating religious tensions where there are none. In the apology, managing editor Charles Garside claims that the article was 'not a fabrication,' but "based the story on conversations with senior members of the Lebanese community." He added "The problem is that none of that is true."

Whilst the second scandal of the week revolves around a video the Mail published which shows Angelina Jolie, during the 1990s, in a supposed drug addled state. The footage was reportedly taken by Jolie's drug dealer, a Franklin Meyer, who claims he shot the video whilst supplying drugs to the Maleficent actress at her New York apartment.

Jolie has previously discussed her drug use in numerous interviews but The Times reports she considers the publication of the video as an invasion of privacy and is seeking legal action against the tabloid. The 16 minute video also includes a private family conversation in which Jolie is apparently talking to her father Jon Voight about her brother, James Haven, and late mother, Marcheline Bertrand.

What he subsequently displays during his time there is a remarkable show of strength of character, fearlessness and an unwavering courage that would touch millions.

Brad Pitt, Filming 'World War Z' Sequel, Enjoys Culinary Delights Of. Wimpy? 4279163 News

There are times when everyone, no matter how rich, famous or beautiful they are, needs a burger. Whether you've had a little too much to drink, are in the middle of a long motorway journey or have spent the day being chased round zombies sometimes it's time for Wimpy. Actor Brad Pitt certainly seems to have had that reaction on Tuesday (8th July) when he was spotted in Essex ordering fast food with his bodyguards.

Pitt is currently filming a sequel to World War Z in Essex, close to the town of Billericay. On Tuesday night he dined out in style by grabbing dinner at Wimpy, namely a burger, chips and fizzy drink. According to the Mirror, Pitt may be worth $87 million but he didn't even order the most expensive thing on the menu. Pitt treated himself to a £6.35 cheeseburger meal and also ordered for his three friends. A source described Pitt as "really polite and friendly to staff."

Apparently this is not the first time Pitt has eaten at a Wimpy as he is a fan of their donuts. Sadly the restaurant didn't have any in on Tuesday night but a source, speaking to the British tabloid, claimed Pitt would be back later in the week to get some. It seems Pitt had previously at the fast food joint when he had spent time in Essex filming World War Z in 2011.

Pitt was also spotted in a local pub in Billericay, relaxing after a hard day on set with a few friends. Once again Pitt tried to stay out of the limelight, and a source told the paper "There was no fuss, Brad clearly just wanted to chill out after his day on set. He looked super casual and did his best to fit in."

Whilst Pitt's fiancé, actress Angelina Jolie was nowhere to be seen, the two are due to reunite on-screen and off on the island Gozo, Malta next month. As the Guardian reports, the two will begin filming for an as yet unnamed movie in which they both star. The upcoming film is the couple's second film together after they starred in Mr & Mrs Smith in 2005.

Twitter Explodes Over Ryan Gosling's Baby News: Five Other Celebrity Crushes You Have No Chance With 4278262 News

Hey girl, did you know that Ryan Gosling is about to be a dad? Neither did anyone else until this week, but when he and girlfriend Eva Mendes broke the news, the internet exploded with highly inappropriate amounts of “grief.” Well, it was mostly just Twitter. Well, mostly just overdramatic Gosling and Notebook fans. But in honor of these poor lovestruck souls (you can read some choice tweets below) we’ve compiled a list of five other people you are never going to date – no matter how much you’d like to.

Ryan Gosling
Gosling and Mendes got together in 2011, so he's technically been off the market for some time now.

Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie. When asked to choose between this power couple, most people would be fine with either. Jolie is intelligent, charitable, worldly and stunning. Brad Pitt, even after his hey-day is… how do we put this delicately… hot, not to mention a creative and business-savvy force to be reckoned with. Fortunately for them, they seem to have found a good thing – lasting marriage, a whole litter of children and thriving careers to boot. Unfortunately for us, this means that both are off the market for good. The same largely applies to Beyonce and Jay Z, by the way.

Cara Delevingne. This applies to any Victoria’s Secret model out there (sorry to burst your bubble, guys) but we’re focusing on Cara, because her social media presence makes her seem so relatable, just like one of us. Well, she’s not. Last year, the Brit’s net worth was estimated at $1 million and with contracts with the likes of Chanel, Burberry, Victoria’s Secret and Fendi among others, she’s likely to double that in no time. So while she can pull a mean duck face and reportedly enjoys playing Call of Duty, you aren’t likely to spark a social network romance with Cara Delevingne.

Cara Delevingne
No chance.

Tom Hiddleston. Mr Hiddleston has enjoyed a meteoric rise since 2011, which may be why he seems so charming, down to earth, slightly awkward and just so dreamy, right? He was also voted ELLE’s man of the year for 2014, so clearly there are a lot of ladies and gents out there, who’d really like a shot at the Hiddles. Like a lot. The man has millions of fangirls, fanboys an variations thereupon across the globe and is continuously on the road for various acting engagements. Just this year he starred in the National Theatre’s production of Coriolanus in London, then filmed Crimson Peak in Canada, had a cameo in Muppets: Most Wanted, which filmed in LA and is now working on the thriller High-Rise in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Point being, the man is very busy, very famous and very, very private.

Tom Hiddleston
Nope.

Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift makes a huge effort to show us all that she’s just one of the girls and for that, we love her. She’s also down with the ideas of feminism, which is pretty cool of her. Judging by her instagram and twitter, she’s also a massive dork, which tends to make you forget that Tay Tay had one of the most successful albums of last year, Red, followed by a worldwide tour and that now, everybody wants a piece of Taylor. Kudos to her for handling it all so gracefully, for still giving advice to young women on twitter and for inundating us with pictures of her cat, just like any other 24-year-old. Point still stands though – if you think your crush on Taylor Swift is unique, think again. However long her string of past lovers may be (none of our business, by the way), commoners are not invited.

Taylor Swift
Get over it.

Our 10 Most Disappointing Movies of 2014 So Far 4276573 News

We’re half way through 2014 and lets just say, it’s been a mixed bag at the cinema so far. Sure we’ve had some triumphs but we’ve also had a few that have left us leaving the theatre wishing we’d just stayed home and watched Netflix. While they might have taken our money, here’s the 10 movies which left leaving the cinema feeling the most disappointed so far this year.

The Other Woman The Other Woman didn't quite make us laugh enough

The Other Woman

“Is this the next Bridesmaids?” Some wondered. Sadly the answer was no. Packed with cheap laughs, The Other Woman failed to either empower or amuse most female movie goers. In the end, the talents of Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann were throughly wasted here thanks to the film’s predictable and shallow script.

Transcendence

Johnny Depp is becoming a bit of a problem. We want so much to love everything he does, not because he’s Jack Sparrow, because he was once Edward Scissorhands and Ed Wood. But Transcendence proved another box office flop for Depp, his worst so far. The idea was there, the future’s battle with technology and its effects on humanity, but sadly the execution just wasn't good enough.

I Frankenstein

The creators of Underworld take the Frankenstein’s monster character and pit him with gargoyles against demons. No it doesn't sound too great on paper and sadly it wasn't much on screen either.

Liam Neeson in Non stopLiam Neeson turned action hero in Non Stop

Non-Stop

Liam Neeson as a bad ass action hero was exactly what we wanted it’s just Non-Stop didn't do too good a job at delivering it. The worst part was it's really not a bad film until it moves towards the end and things just got a little too ridiculous. In the end this one was really was deserving of a much safer landing.

300: Rise of an Empire

The sequel to 2007’s box office hit, 300, Rise of an Empire probably wasn't necessary in the first place. But this time director Noam Murro seemed to forsake real story telling in order to deliver lots of gory action. Yes 300 Rise of an Empire was so gory it made its predecessor look like a rom-com, an actually that’s not a good thing.

Robocop

“Everything else is getting a reboot so why not RoboCop?” Appeared to be the thinking here. Problem was, director José Padilha didn't quite know how to execute it. Are we paying homage to the original RoboCop or trying to reinvent the franchise? No one was quite sure and it all made for a pretty disappointing attempt at a reboot.

Angelina Jolie in MaleficentAngelina Jolie as Maleficent

Maleficent

Maleficent wasn’t a bad movie by any stretch, but did it really live up to trailer? No not really. In the end Maleficent fell short of our expectations. Yes it looked amazing and Angelina was fantastic, but the script really didn't do justice to a character and a movie which could have been so much more awesome.

The Monuments Men

As far as actors turned directors go, George Clooney had a pretty good track record, that was until The Monuments Men. Despite a star studded cast, including Clooney himself, Matt Damon and Bill Murray, The Monuments Men was sadly just boring. All the ingredients were there, but sadly somewhere along the way Clooney decided to deliver an obsure history lesson rather than a movie.

Transformers: Age of Extinction

Where to start? Is it really accurate to say we were disappointed, after all we knew it was a Michael Bay film going in. But we had hoped maybe with the addition of Mark Wahlberg the franchise could be salvaged. Sadly all we got was another lengthly, special effects laden, predictable Michael Bay outing. Though we did get to see Dinobots.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2Andrew Garfield in The Amazing Spider-Man 2

The Amazing Spider-Man 2

We wanted this to be great, actually we wanted it to be amazing, but really it just wasn’t. Simply it just tried too hard to pack too much in. Special effects and villains galore, it was as if Marc Webb was trying whatever he could to overshadow Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone’s chemistry. On the plus side, the special effects were great and we did really enjoy Dane DeHaan.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's Daughter Shiloh Has Her Own Skate Park 4252934 News

Getting your very first bike represents a landmark for most children - a rite of passage into the world of the mobile. But what if you had an entire skate park in which to hone your skills? Now that would be something.

Brad Pitt and Angelina JolieBrad Pitt and Angelina Jolie go matching at the 2014 Baftas

But it’s exactly what Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie decided to do for their 8-year-old daughter Shiloh. The duo, apparently, hired a team of builders to construct ramps, dips and metal grinds in the backyard of their mansion.

Jolie has previously told E! News that her lucky daughter is a keen skater.  “We did a lot of things. She's very into skating. She's a skateboarder. We did graffiti lessons and skateboarding.” Her other kids, Maddox, 13, Pax, 10, Zahara, 9, and five-year-old twins, Knox and Vivienne, would be jealous although one of them will probably get a zoo next time they celebrate a birthday.

Pitt and Jolie, who also own mansions in Italy, New Orleans, Malibu and New York, originally purchased their 5,338-square-foot property for $1.7 million in 1994. But since then they’ve bought up the neighboring homes and turned what was already a massive, massive house into a lavish estate for their huge family.

Aside from facilitating his daughter’s love of extreme sports, Pitt has been the latest victim of Vitalii Sediuk, who showed little remorse for his prank at the premiere for Maleficent.

He is now serving a 17-day community service sentence for battery and unlawful activity. "I can't feel sorry for Brad Pitt," said Sediuk. "He has everything you can imagine. And I'm cleaning toilets? Sorry, but excuse me. Actually, I was going for Cate Blanchett," added. "I thought, 'OK, Cate Blanchett is a major star; she'll have the bigger dress. The police asked me, 'Did you see anything?' And I said, 'No, because the dress was many layers'."
