Amy Winehouse's Husband Leaves Jail For Rehab

by | 05 November 2008

Blake Fielder-Civil, husband to award-winning singer Amy Winehouse, has left prison to be admitted to a rehabilitation clinic.

Fielder-Civil, 26, was jailed for 27 months earlier this year after being found guilty of grievous bodily harm and perverting the course of justice.

However, after serving less than half of his sentence, he left jail today (Wednesday November 5th) wearing jeans, a stripy red T-shirt and a trilby hat.

As part of his release agreement, it is believed Fiedler-Civil will soon be admitted to a rehabilitation clinic in Surrey - reportedly the same facility in which Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood was treated earlier this year.

Grammy winner Winehouse was not present as her husband was released, having recently been treated at the London Clinic for a chest infection.

Fielder-Civil was arrested last November in connection with a "vicious" attack upon an east London pub landlord in the summer of 2006.

The former production runner and his friend Michael Brown, 40, Holloway, were sentenced at Snaresbrook crown court in July after admitting charges over the attack upon Jamie King, 36, the owner of the Macbeths pub in Hoxton.

Following the attack the pair, along with Anthony Kelly and James Kennedy, tried to bribe Mr King with £200,000 and the promise of a holiday in Spain if he stopped the case from going to court.

Brown was jailed for 33 months for unlawful wounding, perverting the course of justice and a bail offence, while Kennedy, 20, of Hatfield, was given a suspended sentence of 40 weeks in a young offenders institute and ordered to undertake 120 hours of unpaid work.

Kelly, 26, of Chalk Farm, was given a 20-month sentence for perverting the course of justice.
