Amy Winehouse - Amy Winehouse's Former Boyfriend Facing Rape Charges

The former boyfriend of Amy Winehouse will face trial on two counts of rape, a judge in London said on Tuesday (July 17, 2012). Reg Traviss, a film director who was in a relationship with Winehouse at the time of her death in July 2011, was released on bail after appearing at Westminster Magistrates Court.
Dressed in a grey suit and dark tie, Mr Traviss spoke only to give his name, address and date of birth. Judge Stephanie Wickham said the 35-year-old - who was first arrested in April - will face trial at Southwark Crown Court in London on September 12, 2012. He is accused of two counts of rape in the early hours of December 31 last year, and was granted bail on the condition that he does not contact his alleged victim or visit the Experimental Cocktail Club in London's Soho District. Traviss, who lives in Marylebone, attended Winehouse's funeral after she was found dead at her home in Camden, North London, last July. He is best known for his movie, Psychosis, which featured Charisma Carpenter and The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins.
Before meeting Traviss, Winehouse was married to Blake Fielder-Civil, a former video production assistant. They tied the knot in Miami Beach, Florida, in May 2007, though their life together was plagued by drug addiction. Amy's father Mitch Winehouse has often criticized Blake for the influence he had on his daughter's struggle with narcotics and alcohol.
