Amy Winehouse - Amy Winehouse Will Be First Name On Music Walk Of Fame

Amy Winehouse is to be awarded the first 'star' on London's Music Walk of Fame on what would have been her 30th birthday.

The ultimate honour will be bestowed on the tragic Back to Black hitmaker when the attraction, similar to the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles, is launched in September (13), according to Nme magazine.

Organisers announced earlier this month (Mar13) that they have been given the green light to honour the world's top music legends with sidewalk tributes in the London borough of Camden, where dozens of the U.K.'s biggest acts cut their teeth.

Bands including The Clash, Oasis, Blur, Madness, and The Libertines all have strong links to the area and are expected to be honoured at the site, but it is Winehouse - who lived in Camden until her death from alcohol poisoning in 2011 - whose name will be the first to be set in stone.

A paving slab containing an imitation vinyl record printed with the words "Amy Winehouse, London, England - Icon" will be unveiled on 14 September (13), the date of Winehouse's 30th birthday, according to the publication.

Organiser Lee Bennett says, "One of the reasons we chose Camden is because it's a living and breathing music community and its venues and musicians are what inspired the idea."
