Amy Winehouse To Star In Dr Who?

by | 01 April 2008

AMY WINEHOUSE is set to star in the new series of DR WHO, it has emerged.

NME magazine reports that songstress will reprise the role of the villainess The Rani, which was made famous by actress KATE O'MARA in the 1980s.

The Rani is an evil scientific genius rouge timelord who in previous series of the hit TV show has enslaved entire planets.

This role will be the BACK TO BLACK singer's first acting role since she was expelled from the famed Sylvia Young Theatre School.

Sources revealed to the publication that Amy is very excited about the role as she is a "massive fan" of the show.

"She was a total DR WHO nerd as a kid," they explained.

"Her and Blake have all the DVDs in their flat. She once even told people at the Hawley Arms that she had a massive crush on [fourth Doctor] TOM BAKER when he visited the pub."

Amy will be following in the footsteps of singers BILLE PIPER and KYLIE MINOGUE and comedian KATHERINE TATE who have all appeared alongside DAVID TENNANT in the sci-fi show.

Meanwhile, Amy is also reportedly turning her hand to being a fashion muse and has received an offer to be a clotheshorse for ROBETTO CAVALLI.

The famed designer has offered her a lifetime worth of free clothes in return for her wearing them at public appearances and concerts.

Winehouse's spokesperson has so far refused to confirm the deal, saying, "Amy is considering many offers at the moment".
