Amy Winehouse - Amy Winehouse Cancels Tour Dates After Drunken Nightmare
Amy Winehouse, the British R&B, soul and jazz singer, has been forced to cancel two dates on her European tour following a controversial performance in Belgrade over the weekend, reports Mtv News. Amy Winehouse was allegedly booed by crowds at the event for being highly intoxicated.
The 27-year-old was jeered by the Belgrade crowd for being "too drunk to perform" after arriving on stage an hour late. She also "mumbled her way through parts of songs", much to the audiences' dismay. Winehouse, who recently completed a week-long stay in rehabilitation, has now cancelled two scheduled shows this week in Turkey and Greece. Her spokesman said the singer would like to apologise to fans "but feels that this is the right thing to do". The representative added, "Amy has cancelled appearances in Istanbul and Athens for the coming week. Despite feeling she wanted to fulfil these commitments, she has agreed with management that she cannot perform to the best of her ability and will return home". It is not yet clear whether Winehouse will perform as scheduled at the Bbk Festival in Bilbao on 8th July 2011.
Amy Winehouse is reportedly putting the finishing touches to her third studio album. She will also feature on Tony Bennett's forthcoming duets album 'Tony Bennett: Duets II', scheduled for release on 20th September 2011.
