Amy Winehouse - Amy Winehouse Biopic? Who Would Play Amy On Film?

On the first anniversary of Amy Winehouse 's death, music lovers are considering the singer's legacy and thoughts of how tributes can be paid to her talent. Her father Mitch Winehouse has previously downplayed the possibility of a biopic movie being made about Amy's tragically short life but in last week's interview with Associated Press, it seemed that he was beginning to warm to the idea.
"We don't want a sensationalized movie going out, you know, but equally there's no point in sort of massaging the fact that Amy was an alcoholic and drug addict; no point in pretending that didn't happen," Mitch said. There's been no talk this far as to who would play the role of Amy. It would be a big challenge for anyone that did take on the role; her passing is still painfully fresh in the memory of her fans and it would be a brave move on any actress' part. It's likely that Mitch would play a part in the development of the movie, if it does get made though he's not given any clues as to who he'd like to play the part.
What seems to be more certain, however, is that Amy's fans can expect more of her music to be released. A posthumous collaboration between Winehouse and the rapper Nas was released this month and Mitch is working with her producers Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi to see what unfinished work can be salvaged. "But we have to be mindful," he said. "We don't want to put anything out that could be damaging. It wouldn't be right for Amy's fans."
