Amy Poehler Shines On Return To Saturday Night Live
AMY POEHLER, the comedian and former cast member of SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, returned to the show on 25th September 2010 to kick off the 36th season, reports the Huffington Post. The 39-year-old delivered a hilarious opening monologue which featured a number of cameo appearances, including JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE. One sketch focused on how Poehler had suffered from 'stress dreams' before appearing live on the show, and featured Timberlake, as well as TINA FEY and RACHEL DRATCH.
The premiere of the new season saw KATY PERRY join Poehler as the musical guest, and she also featured in one of the sketches, poking fun at the decision to cut her from a recent Sesame Street recording for showing too much cleavage. USA Today report that "In a Bronx Beat sketch featuring host Amy Poehler and ex-cast member Maya Rudolph, Perry played a busty teen who's been causing a lot of "hullabaloo" at the local library due to her blossoming figure. The pair addressed Perry's low-cut t-shirt featuring Elmo, saying, 'Looks like this show is brought to you by the number 38 and the letter double D'.
Poehler is currently the lead star in the NBC show 'Parks and Recreation', and her performances were rewarded with a nomination for 'Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series', at the 2010 Emmy Awards.
