Amy Poehler Set To Host Saturday Night Live
AMY POEHLER, the star of 'Parks and Recreation', has agreed to host 'Saturday Night Live', when the comedy show returns on September 25th 2010, reports Entertainment Weekly. Poehler was a member of the SNL cast between 2001 and 2008, and has since gone on to become an EMMY AWARD nominated actress for her work on 'Parks'.
The 38-year-old actress will be joined by KATY PERRY who is the musical guest for the premiere of SNL's new series, as the show enters its 36th year on NBC. Several comedians will also join the mix in an attempt to replace the outgoing WILL FORTE. Entertainment Weekly confirms that the new arrivals include actor and comedian TARAN KILLAM (of 'How I Met Your Mother' fame), Chicago-based duo PAUL BRITTAIN and VANESSA BAYER, and the relative newcomer JAY PHAROAH.
As well as appearing on SNL, Poehler starred in the 2004 film 'Mean Girls', and also in 2008's 'Baby Mama' - both of which saw her act alongside TINA FEY. She is married to the 'Arrested Development' actor WILL ARNETT, and had a recurring role in the series as the wife of Arnett's character 'GOB.
