Amityville Horror House Up For Sale

The creepy house which inspired 1979 movie THE AMITYVILLE HORROR is up for sale.

The five-bedroom property, situated in Long Island, New York, was the scene of a grisly multiple murder in 1974 which saw six members of the DeFeo family killed as they slept. Eldest son Ronald DeFeo, Jr. was later convicted of the killings.

The film, starring James Brolin and Margot Kidder, was based on the story of a family who moved into the house after the murders, and went on to allegedly witness paranormal activities.

And now horror fans have the chance to own the infamous house - it was put up for sale on Monday (04May10) for $1.15 million (£766,667).

	Does anyone know the Lutz family could not afford the house and were foreclosed on and made up the story of the haunting and sold it to hollywood. There is no Paranormal activity in the house. I know this cause I have a friend who grew up in the neighborhood and went to school with the murderer (Ronald Defaeo Jr)

	Officials of that area, Police department etc...should BURN that house to the gound, let it be ashes!!!!!!then use the space for parking. or put a garden there, plant some trees, do something constructive with that property...........

	Really? The HOUSE inspired the movie? Not the 1975 BOOK that was allegedly based on a true story? It's amazing. Professional writers can't even post legitimate, properly-worded content on a website these days. Are you an actual journalist? With a degree?
