American Idol Panel: Jennifer Lopez Tips Bono!
Jennifer Lopez has tipped a couple of superstar rockers to replace her on the American Idol panel, after announcing she is stepping down as judge. Speaking during an interview with ABC News, the singer had a couple of ambitious names in mind to join Randy Jackson on the panel.
Lopez commented, "I think like Bono or Bon Jovi or Mick Jagger. You know me, I think big". It's hard to believe that either of those singers would be prepared to join the American Idol panel, though creator Nigel Lythgoe may be forced into at least trying for such superstar names should be want to fend off the competition from The X Factor USA, which boasts Britney Spears on their panel. Just days after Steven Tyler announced his departure from Idol, Lopez told Ryan Seacrest that she too would be leaving the show, saying, "I honestly feel like that the time has come that I have to get back to doing the other things that I do that I've put, kind of, on hold, because I love ["American Idol"] so much". Lopez hinted that her unique chemistry with Tyler was part of her reason for leaving, saying, "We had magic. I don't know, with him gone, it might be a different formula".
The show's producers are currently in the process of replacing both Lopez and Tyler, with Mariah Carey thought to be deep in negotiations to fill one of the positions. Others touted as possible judges include Adam Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Fergie and WILL.I.AM.
